The recommended way for removing the cell top is to use gloves and to hold the glass cell chamber with the left hand (for right-handed people) at the top of the chamber and to gently twist the plastic top with the right hand whilst applying a gentle lift to the top. There are two rubber rings that locate the top on the glass chamber and you should be able to feel the top lift past the first ring and then the second ring.
When refitting it is important to completely push the top on the cell, again this can be done in two stages corresponding to the passage of the cell over the two fixing rings. You can see the two stage process on the accompanying video.
